I agree. Coda is definitely something to check out. I use BBEdit and have payed for this text editing software but Coda offers a ton more and for FREE and I like free.

Coda isn’t free… o_O
Coda is my choice for OS X. However, if I’m only doing a small change, (or dealing with an SQL file) I tend to fire up BBEdit because it’s super light.
Anyhow my current choice for a text editor in Windows is Notepad++. Definitely super powerful for something that costs $0. And is expandable with a huge amount of plugins!
